ITER is the most important worldwide project for the development of the nuclear fusion as a viable and sustainable energy source.
It is biggest international collaboration in the field of energy, bringing together 50% of the world’s population and 80% of the global GDP.
Europe will contribute to almost half of the costs of its construction, while the other six parties (China, Japan, India, the Republic of Korea, the Russian Federation and the USA), will contribute equally to the rest.
Fusion for Energy (F4E) is the European Union’s organisation managing Europe’s contribution to ITER. It seat is in Barcelona, Spain.
A few days ago, F4E’s board visited our company’s facilities in order to examine the state of the production of the Vacuum Vessel’s sectors, which have been acquired from the Italian Consortium AMW (of which Walter Tosto is a member), as well as other important supplies, directly obtained by Walter Tosto SpA.
Henrik Bindslev, Director of F4E, expressed that “F4E attaches great importance to its collaboration with suppliers. This one-of-a-kind project requires total commitment and rigorous project management to help Europe honour its role as the biggest contributor and host of this project”.
“Walter Tosto’s team works hard, day by day, in order to let the real Made in Italy’s value, which is often underestimate, be recognized all over the world“, said Luca Tosto, Walter Tosto’s CEO.
