A 407 ton DHTU (Distillate Hydrotreating Unit) reactor was shipped from the port of Ortona, Italy for our customer ENPPI (EPC Subcontractor for DHTU, VDU and SRU/SSU units for ANOPC project) to be installed inside the DHTU Pocess unit in Assiut, Egypt.
The $1.9 billion ANOPC Project is considered of strategic importance to maximize the Egyptian Government’s efforts to meet the growing demand of the domestic market.
This component is the most critical of the new Distillate Hydrotreating unit. For this project, Walter Tosto also supplied to ENPPI the proprietary and non-proprietary internals, as well as the thermocouples.
In the new Assiut Hydrocracking complex, fuel oil from ANOPC’s existing refinery will be converted into more valuable products, improving the quality of the distillates. The plant will allow, on one hand to maximize the production of diesel and, on the other, to minimize light ends production (except LPG). The final products obtained will be LPG, naphtha, diesel, coke and sulphur.
Egypt represents an important market for Walter Tosto and a territory rich of opportunities and exchanges, which has allowed the company to establish valuable collaborations with the major local players, such as ENPPI and Petrojet.
In this regard, we will be happy to meet again the companies representatives this year at the Egyps 2023 event, which will be held from 13 to 15 February in Cairo, and to reconfirm our commitment to continuing these fruitful collaborations in the future.
