Quality is a very important factor for companies, allowing them to address their results towards market expectations and to obtain a competitive advantage.
Walter Tosto SpA operates according to a Quality Management System pursuant to ISO 9001 standard since 1995. This standard, which defines the requirements for a quality management system of the organizations, was issued for the first time in 1987. Several reviews have been applied on ISO 9001 in 1994, 2008 and finally in 2015.
On September 23rd 2015, the last version was indeed published by Uni. The main updates concerns the “risk-oriented” approach that organizations will have to consider by evaluating the risks connected to the performed activities, product conformity and characteristics and environmental impact.
From 5 to 9 October, ISO delegates visited Walter Tosto’s workshops and offices, both in Italy and in Romania, with the aim to verify and deeply analyze the integrated quality management system for the renewal of the ISO 9001:2008 certification. The audit concluded positively and the certification will be valid for further three years for all the plants on the following services provided by the company: design, manufacture and installation of heavy wall process equipment (pressure vessels, reactors, columns and drums), high pressure heat exchangers , tubular reactors and heat transfer equipment (condensers, waste heat boilers), storage tank for oil & gas, chemical, petrochemical, power generation, pharmaceutical and food industry.
All the departments of the company were involved and participated to the evaluation activities. ISO’s inspectors congratulated with the personnel for their competences and availability, as well as for the continuous infrastructures updates, especially regarding the WTB workshop with, they underlined, its huge potentialities.
