We are now in Paris to participate in the “World Nuclear Exhibition”, where the role of SMR Nuclear Power Plants in the ecological transition is being discussed.
SMRs (Small Modular Reactors) are small nuclear plants that aim to produce electricity at 300-400 Mw/h in the immediate vicinity of the usage site.
Such machines are simple in their structure and inherently ultra-safe. There are currently around 50 research projects related to SMRs worldwide, some of which have already been approved by the safety authorities.
To date, they are identified as the greatest available and tangible technological opportunity, in combination with hydrogen systems, capable of falling within the limit of greenhouse gas emissions by 2035.
These plants will play a decisive role both for the benefits related to the reduction of the environmental impact and for the technological growth of the companies that will take part in their development.
